Abstract

In April 1945, a British parliamentary delegation visited Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany to investigate and report on the atrocities found there. The delegation, consisting of eight MPs and two members of the House of Lords, documented the camp's history, the survivors' conditions, and the treatment of prisoners in a White Paper presented to Parliament. The visit had a profound impact on the delegates, with some experiencing physical and mental health issues attributed to their exposure to the camp. The delegation's report aimed to provide objective and factual evidence of the horrors witnessed, emphasizing the reality of the atrocities committed. [Extracted from the article]
