On Looking into Chapman's Austen: 100 Years On.

Abstract

The article examines the archival evidence for Katharine Metcalfe's on-going involvement after 1912 in editing the novels of novelist Jane Austen. It mentions differences between the text of Austen's edition of "Pride and Prejudice" of 1912 and R. W. Chapman's edition of 1923. It also mentions Georgian society with female-led shifts in British historiography and literary history.
