Abstract

The Journal of American Studies has introduced a new initiative called The JAS Bookshelf, which aims to curate a diverse collection of written works that have influenced research, teaching, and perspectives beyond academia. The first cluster of The JAS Bookshelf focuses on the life and work of Nobel laureate William Faulkner. The cluster includes contributions from Ahmed Honeini, who reflects on his first encounter with Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury," as well as contributions from Carl Rollyson and Bernard T. Joy on Faulkner's "Absalom, Absalom!" The initiative invites proposals for future Bookshelf entries or clusters. [Extracted from the article]
