Abstract
The article focuses on the significance of the wounds of Christ as a means to understand the resurrection, illustrated through historical devotional imagery and musical meditation. It highlights a sixteenth-century Jesuit prisoner’s etched image of Christ’s pierced foot in the Tower of London and Dietrich Buxtehude’s 1680 musical work *Membra Jesu Nostri* ("the most holy limbs of our suffering Jesus"), which meditates on Christ’s wounds limb by limb. The narrative of Thomas in John 20 is examined, emphasizing that his faith arises not from physical proof but from a transformative act of seeing and worship. The article concludes that Christ’s wounds symbolize God’s presence in human suffering, inviting believers to embrace faith and fellowship beyond fear and division.
