Abstract

The text focuses on the exploration of sculptural aesthetics in the poetry and critical writing of W. B. Yeats, emphasizing the interconnections between sculpture and poetry during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It highlights Yeats's early art training and collaborations with Irish sculptors, situating his work within the Celtic Revival's visual and poetic traditions while also addressing debates over national and continental artistic ideals. The study examines Yeats's engagement with public monuments, Irish Free State coinage design, and modernist sculpture, particularly his evolving attitudes toward monumentality and change. It also contextualizes Yeats's sculptural language alongside contemporaries such as Patrick Pearse, Oliver Sheppard, and Ezra Pound, thereby broadening the understanding of inter-arts aesthetics during a period of political and cultural transformation in Ireland.
