Abstract

The article discusses the contrasting perspectives people hold about inherited burdens, drawing on Walter M. Miller Jr.'s words in "A Canticle for Leibowitz" to illustrate the concept of ancestral legacy, virtue and the weight of inherited guilt or sin. It delves into the paradox of accepting ancestral virtues joyfully while resisting the notion of bearing ancestral guilt or burdens.
