Abstract

"Lady Eleanor" by Lindisfarne is a hit song from 1972 that explores themes of death and mysticism. The song was written by Alan Hull, the band's frontman, and was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's gothic short story "The Fall Of The House Of Usher." The song initially went unnoticed upon its release in 1971 but gained popularity after the success of Lindisfarne's single "Meet Me On The Corner." "Lady Eleanor" remains a classic and showcases Hull's unique songwriting style. The song's recording was overseen by John Anthony, the in-house producer for Charisma Records.
