Abstract
Sarah M. Quesada's book "The African Heritage of Latinx and Caribbean Literature" explores the Latin-African axis in canonical works of Latinx literature, challenging Eurocentric scholarship. Quesada's interdisciplinary approach incorporates UNESCO Slave Route sites in Africa to analyze the relationship between Latin American literature and the Global South Atlantic. Through detailed examples and close readings of selected works, Quesada reclaims the African sources of Caribbean and Latinx literature, offering a decolonial perspective on literary history.
