Abstract

Though this book makes a valuable contribution to the field of corpus linguistics, it does not offer any automated recognition of the discourse categories and novice researchers are unlikely to be comfortable with utilising this approach. I Speech i , I Writing and Thought Presentation in 19th-Century Narrative Fiction i : I A Corpus-Assisted Approach i by Beatrix Busse is a challenging and thought-provoking book which primarily concerns corpus linguistics and literary criticism. Busse identifies foregrounded keywords, collocations and clusters which ultimately helps to identify lexico-grammatical patterning of the individual categories of the discourse presentation modes.
