Abstract
The article focuses on the defamation lawsuit involving American political commentator Candace Owens and French First Lady Brigitte Macron, centered on Owens' claims that Brigitte Macron is male. A Paris criminal court recently convicted ten French individuals for cyberbullying the First Lady with similar false claims, sentencing most to suspended jail terms and ordering social media suspensions and hate speech courses. Owens has rejected the court's ruling and plans to continue promoting the conspiracy theory through her media. The case highlights ongoing tensions around free speech, cyberbullying laws in France, and the scrutiny faced by the Macrons, whose age-gap relationship has been subject to public gossip since Emmanuel Macron became president in 2017.
