Abstract
This article explores the secrets of lifelong friendships and what makes them durable. According to evolutionary psychologist Robin Dunbar, shared traits, interests, and backgrounds are crucial for a strong friendship. Research by Jeffrey Hall suggests that spending at least 300 hours together and expressing deep thoughts and emotions can lead to tighter bonds. Aminatou Sow emphasizes the importance of consistency and developing shared rituals to maintain a vibrant friendship. While science can provide some explanations, Sow believes that there is also a mysterious and magical aspect to close friendships. The article concludes with a personal anecdote about two friends who rekindled their relationship after years of being apart. [Extracted from the article]
