Abstract
Elizabeth Jane Weston, a celebrated Latin author of the Renaissance, lived most of her life in Prague under the patronage of Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II. After her stepfather's fall from favor and her subsequent marriage to Johannes Leo, Weston continued to write Latin verse, gaining admiration from European scholars. Recent discoveries of Weston's poems on Rudolf II's death shed light on her literary contributions, showcasing her talent in classical verse and her connection to the emperor as a patron of the arts.
