Abstract

The article focuses on a participatory research project in which immigrant and refugee mothers from five countries used children's literature to engage in critical conversations about migration, identity, and belonging. Topics include the power of storytelling as both resistance and cultural preservation, the shortcomings of traditional school literacy in representing marginalized voices, and the transformative potential of centering lived experiences in education.
