Abstract

Silvia Rosi's photography explores themes of identity, memory, and cultural displacement through self-portraiture and family albums. Her work reflects on her Italian and Togolese heritage, using personal objects and clothing to convey complex narratives about her family history. Rosi's images evoke feelings of alienation and the challenges of establishing oneself in a new country, drawing inspiration from West African studio photographers and the performative elements of self-portraiture. Through her art, Rosi sheds light on the experiences of immigrants navigating economic precarity and cultural dislocation. [Extracted from the article]
