Abstract

Legal writing is a learned skill that can be improved and developed over time. During the first semester, you were likely introduced to predictive legal writing. In the second semester, your legal writing course will likely shift to persuasive writing. Organization is the foundation of effective legal writing. An advocate who can show the judge how the decision should be made, laying out all the steps of the analysis in a logical order, stands a much better chance of winning. Legal writing demands precision and conciseness. Make sure every word, sentence, and paragraph serves its purpose. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
