Abstract
This article examines the mysterious disappearance of a historic hat that once belonged to Buffalo Bill Cody, along with accompanying letters. The hat was discovered in 1957 at a Nebraska library, but has since gone missing. The article presents three theories to explain the disappearance: the Loan Theory, the Safeguarding Theory, and the Theft Theory. However, no definitive answers are provided. The article concludes with a hopeful sentiment that the hat and letters will be found and made accessible to the public once again. [Extracted from the article]
