Abstract

Orpheus and Eurydice is a mythological tale about a musician named Orpheus who travels to the underworld to rescue his wife, Eurydice, who died from a snakebite. Orpheus pleads with the deities of the underworld to allow him to bring Eurydice back to the land of the living. Moved by his music, even the ghosts shed tears, and eventually, Orpheus is granted permission to take Eurydice with him on the condition that he does not look back at her until they reach the surface. However, in a moment of forgetfulness, Orpheus turns around, and Eurydice is taken away from him forever. The story highlights the power of love and the consequences of impatience.
