Abstract
In the 1970s, biologist John Bumpass Calhoun conducted an experiment with mice in a controlled environment called Universe 25, which led to a collapse in social behavior and population decline. Calhoun believed this study had implications for human overpopulation and social collapse. His work gained international fame and influenced various sectors of society, including politicians, urban planners, and writers, although his dire warnings about human society have not fully materialized.
