Abstract

The article contrasts the thoughts of philosopher Wilhelm Dilthey and intellectual Ham Sok Hon on homo-historicus and their understanding of history as grounded in human nature involving meaning-making/sharing and narrative-building. It compares their thoughts on life as a multidimensionality and dialogic creativity as a narrative builder and sustainer. It discusses their notions of religion and articulation of transcendence as the force of reflective mind and expressions of historical life.
