Abstract
The article critiques the 1972 novel "G," by English novelist John Berger. Topics discussed include the narrative structure and pagination of the novel, the employment of aphorism by Berger as a form of lexical framing in addressing political and social themes, and a comparison between Berger's rhetoric and the use of aphorism by other novelists such as Elizabeth Hardwick and Renata Adler.
