Abstract

This article provides a historical overview of the origins and evolution of Santa Claus, tracing his roots back to St. Nicholas in the 3rd century CE. It explores how the image of St. Nicholas transformed into the familiar figure of Santa Claus that we know today. The article also highlights the various regional variations of Santa Claus, such as Krampus in Germany and Joulupukki in Finland, as well as other gift-givers in different cultures. It dispels the myth that Coca-Cola is responsible for Santa Claus wearing a red outfit.
