Abstract

This text explores the portrayal of Jesus in modern German and Polish literature, examining how authors challenge traditional interpretations and offer alternative perspectives. German authors like Sibylle Lewitscharoff, Arnold Stadler, and Michael Köhlmeier use unconventional narratives and perspectives to create new meanings around Jesus. In Polish literature, Jesus has been depicted as a symbol of Polish identity and resistance against political oppression, but more recent works have questioned traditional interpretations and presented Jesus in a more relatable way. The text also discusses the tension between religious and secular influences and the complex nature of Jesus as depicted in literature. [Extracted from the article]
