Abstract

This article discusses the challenges that can slow down the integration process and hinder the success of mergers and acquisitions. It highlights the importance of quickly integrating sales, marketing, customer experience, and other commercial functions to achieve top-line growth. The article identifies five challenges that delay commercial integration, including limited visibility, complex system integration, organizational and operating model challenges, cultural differences, and customer and competitor pressures. It provides six key workstreams that need to be addressed to integrate faster, including forming a core integration team, optimizing channels and segments, redesigning the sales force, integrating sales and operations planning, integrating commercial systems and data, and analyzing and maximizing customer profitability.
