Abstract
This article explores the different strategies that companies are adopting for where employees should work, such as in-office, remote, or hybrid arrangements. The authors conducted interviews and research in three national organizations to understand the effectiveness of these strategies. They identified nine employee personas that emerge based on the alignment or misalignment between company strategy and employee preference. The article emphasizes the importance of recognizing and understanding the diversity of personas within the workforce and suggests ways for business leaders to support and accommodate employees with different preferences.
