Abstract

The special issue of "Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences" is dedicated to Professor Ioannis Stratis on his retirement from the Department of Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The articles in this volume were written by invited speakers from a workshop held in Athens in July 2023. Professor Stratis has had a distinguished career in Mathematical Analysis and Applied Mathematics, contributing to various fields such as complex media, electromagnetics, mechanics, and mathematical biology. He is recognized for his research, teaching, mentoring, and kindness, with colleagues and students worldwide honoring his retirement. [Extracted from the article]
