Abstract

During World War II, Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt provided military supplies to the Soviet Union through the Arctic convoys, despite their ideological differences. However, the convoys faced heavy losses and Stalin did not show enough appreciation for the aid, causing tension between the Allies. Additionally, Stalin pressed Churchill and Roosevelt for a commitment to a second front in Europe, but they were unable to fulfill this request due to strategic demands and logistical limitations. Despite these challenges, the Allies provided significant aid to the Soviet Union, although some of the equipment was outdated. Stalin later acknowledged the contributions made by the Allies.
