Abstract

The article discusses the Israeli campaign in Gaza and the challenges of governing the region. It highlights the strategic importance of the West Bank and the Golan Heights to Israel's security concerns, as well as the historical and cultural significance of these areas. The article also explores the failed attempts to find a solution for Gaza, including Israel's withdrawal in 2005 and the subsequent rise of Hamas. It suggests that the only way to stabilize Gaza is through the participation of Arab states, particularly the Gulf Arabs, and emphasizes the need for the United States to exert influence in order to achieve a grand bargain. The article concludes by questioning the viability of the Biden administration's proposed approach and highlighting the broader strategic struggle in the region. [Extracted from the article]
