Abstract
The article focuses on the 21st annual Scottsdale Art Auction, held April 10-11 at Legacy Gallery in Old Town Scottsdale, which features over 460 lots of historic and contemporary American, Western, sporting, and wildlife art. Highlights include works by Frederic Remington, Will James, and Nicolai Fechin, whose previously unseen portrait "Carmencita" is estimated at $600,000 to $900,000. The auction also showcases pieces by members of the Taos Society of Artists and contemporary artists such as Ed Mell, a noted Arizona modernist who passed away in 2024. The event, known for setting trends in the Western art market, allows bidding in person, online, by phone, or absentee, with a public preview starting March 23. [Extracted from the article]
