Abstract

The article focuses on the efforts to restart education in Hiroshima following the devastation caused by the atomic bomb in 1945. By March 1946, some schools, such as Fukuromachi Citizens' School, managed to reopen despite being damaged, while others, like Noborimachi Elementary School, were completely destroyed. Teachers faced significant challenges due to a lack of resources, leading them to creatively adapt by using charcoal for blackboards and constructing desks from charcoal boxes. The resilience of educators and students in the face of such adversity is highlighted in the article. [Extracted from the article]
