Abstract
The article focuses on the extensive relief efforts organized by various international and U.S.-based nonprofit organizations following Hurricane Melissa, one of the strongest Atlantic storms on record, which struck the Caribbean, notably Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and the Bahamas. The hurricane caused severe damage, flooding, and loss of life, prompting governments and groups such as Airlink, American Friends of Jamaica, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), DirectRelief, and others to mobilize aid including medical supplies, food, shelter materials, and emergency funding. Many organizations are accepting cash donations and in-kind contributions to support recovery, healthcare, and rebuilding efforts in the affected regions. The article highlights coordinated responses addressing urgent needs such as healthcare, food security, shelter, and infrastructure restoration.
