Abstract
An Australian magistrate has denied the extradition request of former US Marine pilot Daniel Duggan, who is wanted in the US for allegedly providing training to Chinese military pilots without the appropriate license. Duggan's lawyers argued that he could face torture or inhumane treatment if extradited, but the judge disagreed. This case highlights the importance of considering human rights concerns in extradition cases. In a separate incident, American man Ian Thomas Cleary, accused of sexual assault in 2013, has been detained in France for possession of stolen goods. He may be extradited to the US within 60 days. The details of his crimes in France are currently unknown. [Extracted from the article]
