Abstract
The article focuses on the planned demolition of the three-story classroom building at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people were killed in the 2018 mass shooting. The building, preserved as evidence during the shooter's 2022 penalty trial, will be torn down before students return from summer vacation, with victims' families invited to participate in the initial demolition. Similar actions have been taken at other U.S. schools affected by mass shootings, such as Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut and Robb Elementary in Texas. Discussions are ongoing about the site's future use, with proposals including a practice field or a memorial to honor the victims.
