I (BBC Monitoring 11,24/1) i B Peacekeeper Murder Sentence: b A Malian court sentenced a man to death over the 2019 killing of three peacekeepers in the south of the country, the B UN b mission in Mali said on January 25th. B The country's security forces suffer multiple casualties as they combat militants. b On January 8th, a policeman died and three others were wounded as a result of a jihadist attack, a senior Malian official said. Maiga's security assessment has been contradicted by experts and a recent B UN b report that said security conditions have continued to deteriorate in the central Sahel, "particularly in B Burkina Faso b and Mali".
