Abstract
Hamas leaders have been engaging in talks with other Palestinian factions and select Arab states to establish postwar governance in the Gaza Strip. They have expressed a willingness to support the formation of a technocratic government or a government composed of factions that agree to Palestinian reconciliation. Hamas is seeking to widen the fissures within Fatah and find officials who may be willing to go along with their vision for postwar Gaza. They have also been working to gain support from smaller PLO factions and unaffiliated Palestinian activists. The United States and other Western nations are advised to discourage any cooperation with Hamas and take measures to prevent their political resurrection. [Extracted from the article]
