Abstract

The article analyzes the behavioral psychological aspect of the conflict between India and Pakistan. Topics discussed include the mental image of Indian and Pakistani security personnel and decision makers of each other, perceptual bias aggravated by organizational or political need for consistency, centralization misperception of India and Pakistan, the mindset of attributing evil designs to the adversary, and the historical precedent trap that limits understanding of changing dynamics.
