Abstract

The article focuses on Ukraine's innovative approach to drone warfare, particularly through the "Army of Drones" bonus program, which gamifies combat by assigning points for confirmed strikes against Russian targets. Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, has implemented this system to motivate drone units and streamline the procurement of advanced drones via a digital marketplace called Brave1. The program has reportedly doubled the kill count of Ukrainian drone units and has drawn interest from U.S. military officials, who see potential lessons in its efficiency. However, the gamification of warfare raises ethical concerns, as it may desensitize soldiers to the realities of combat and create moral dilemmas regarding the use of technology in warfare.
