Abstract

The present study deals with Scythica Vindobonensia, and specifically with fols. 192v and 193r. It aims to feed the discussion concerning the imprint of the Thucydidean text on the historical narrative preserved in the Viennese palimpsest. Furthermore, it discusses intertextual references pointing to a connection of Dexippus' text not only to historiographers other than Thucydides, but also genres such as biography, and especially Plutarch, geography, rhetoric and the representatives of the Second Sophistic.
