Abstract

The US government is considering a plea deal for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, which would pave the way for his extradition. The Australian government has requested that Assange be allowed to enter a felony guilty plea and return directly to Australia. The US government has submitted assurances to a London court regarding Assange's First Amendment rights, and there will be a hearing on May 20 to further test those promises.
