Abstract
The article discusses the Household Cavalry, the personal guardians of the British monarch which perform in a daily ceremony, the Changing of the Guard. The mounted soldiers protect the Royal Family when they are in London or participating in royal processions such as the coronation of Charles III and are also deployed in front-line service during times of conflict or on humanitarian missions. The cavalry horses that are not on duty at the Horse Guards building are kept in Hyde Park Barracks.
