Abstract

The article states that marking the start of the Kingdom of Jerusalem's decline, the Battle of the Springs of Cresson was a momentous event in Crusader States' history. It mentions that May 1, 1187, became a forewarning of future events due to the political obstacles confronted by Jerusalem. It also mentions that while a delegation was dispatched to bring back Raymond, Count of Tripoli, Reynald of Chatillon's breach of the truce with Saladin prompted a Muslim army to raid his territories.
