Abstract
The author reflects on the language, poetics and personhood of the Navajo people. He notes the importance of mesa, a flat top hill, for the Navajo literature. He notes that within Diné language, including developments in Diné poetics and storytelling, movement reflected in natural kinships lends itself to saad, is a body of words used as a form of communication.
