Abstract

Don Henley, co-founder of the Eagles, testified in a trial in Manhattan as the star witness for the prosecution. Three men are accused of illegally selling handwritten notes and lyrics for the Eagles' album "Hotel California." Henley bought back his original lyrics in 2012 and called the police when more came up for auction. He testified that he had invited a writer to view the lyrics in the 1980s but was disappointed with the result and never gave permission for the notes to be kept or sold. The defendants have pleaded not guilty. [Extracted from the article]
