Abstract
The article focuses on the musical legacy of Clifton Chenier, a prominent figure in American music known as the "King of Zydeco," in celebration of his 100th birthday. Chenier, a native of Leonville, Louisiana, was a master of the chromatic piano key accordion and significantly influenced the zydeco genre, which blends various musical styles and is primarily sung in French. The tribute album, "A Tribute to the King of Zydeco," features contributions from various artists, including The Rolling Stones, and showcases modern accordion players from Louisiana and Texas. Proceeds from the album will support the Clifton Chenier Memorial Scholarship, aimed at assisting students studying traditional zydeco music. [Extracted from the article]
