Abstract

The article provides detailed reviews of recent music albums across various genres, highlighting their cultural and artistic significance. It covers Elena Hristova’s album *Yörüklük*, inspired by the nomadic Yörük people of North Macedonia and Anatolia, featuring Turkish-language originals rooted in traditional melodies. Other notable works include Branwen Kavanagh’s introspective folk album *Mirrormouth*, Tereza Catarov’s European jazz fusion drawing on Southeastern European influences, and Ward Dhoore’s folk-jazz solo project blending acoustic and modern elements. The piece also discusses Marianne Faithfull’s comprehensive box set of early folk and pop recordings, Toby Hay’s intricate solo guitar compositions, and Benedicte Maurseth’s album evoking Norwegian reindeer migration through traditional instruments. Additionally, it reviews Jennifer Reid’s folk album addressing gatekeeping in the genre, LINA_’s experimental Portuguese fado fusion, Danish folktronica duo Stemmer i Voks’ revival of early 20th-century field recordings, and Ruth Lyon’s indie-folk debut infused with 1970s folk-rock and jazz influences.
