Abstract
The article discusses the significance of Napalm Death's album "Scum" and its impact on the genre of grindcore. The album, recorded by Nicholas Bullen, Justin Broadrick, and Mick Harris, incorporated various influences and created a sound that was faster and more extreme than anything before it. Although the mainstream world was initially baffled by the album's noise, it eventually became influential in the metal genre and helped establish Earache Records as an important underground label. Former guitarist Justin Broadrick reflects on the making of the album and its importance in his musical identity. [Extracted from the article]
