Abstract

This article examines Guns N' Roses' 1993 album *The Spaghetti Incident?*, a collection of mostly punk rock cover songs that introduced lesser-known tracks and artists to a broader audience. It details the origins and significance of the original songs and bands covered, including The Skyliners, The Damned, UK Subs, New York Dolls, The Stooges, Dead Boys, T. Rex, Nazareth, Misfits, Sex Pistols, Johnny Thunders, Fear, and Charles Manson. The album was recorded somewhat spontaneously during sessions and tours, reflecting the band members' punk influences and desire to support their musical heroes through royalties. The inclusion of controversial covers, such as Charles Manson's "Look At Your Game, Girl," sparked public backlash despite the band's charitable intentions.
