Abstract
Researchers at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering conducted a study on the effects of music on anxiety and task performance in individuals with severe anxiety disorders. The study involved 20 subjects who were assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale and divided into two groups based on their musical preferences. The research found that listening to music, specifically Kaapi raga, significantly altered heart rate variability and reduced anxiety levels in participants. The study concluded that Kaapi raga may be used as an intervention for individuals with anxiety disorders, while weightless music was effective in improving attention during tasks.
