Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks Build on Tradition.

Abstract

This article focuses on country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s ongoing involvement with the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, an annual Habitat for Humanity event founded by former President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter in 1984. Since first joining in 2007 after Hurricane Katrina, Brooks and Yearwood have regularly participated in building affordable housing, emphasizing the importance of community and shared effort regardless of background. They reflect on memorable experiences, such as building homes in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, and highlight the personal impact of witnessing homeowners’ pride and transformation. Their partnership with Habitat for Humanity has taught them practical skills and reinforced the value of collaboration and humility in service.
