Abstract
The article analyzes Donald Hunsberger's trombone octet transcription of Bach's Passacaglia from an organist's perspective, comparing how trombone and organ performances differ in timbre, articulation, and metric emphasis. Topics include Baroque performance practices, differences between Hunsberger's and Sauer's transcriptions; and how organ registrations influence trombone ensemble interpretation.
