Abstract

The article focuses on the enduring influence of Jimi Hendrix on the guitar styles of six contemporary players such as Melanie Faye, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, and Marcus Machado. Topics include Faye's jazz/ Rhythm and Blues music (R&B) approach to Hendrix's music, Ingram's fiery blues-rock solos, and Machado's fusion of classic R&B/soul with Hendrix and Prince influences.
